Mount Alvernia Academy Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is a crucial component in Mount Alvernia Academy's pursuit of academic excellence. The outstanding education Mount Alvernia Academy offers is comparable to, or exceeds in many ways, the best private schools in the surrounding Boston suburbs that charge a far higher tuition.  As with any independent school, tuition alone does not fully support the expenses associated with providing a Mount Alvernia Academy education. Contributions to the Annual Fund help to bridge this gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating a student at MAA. The Annual Fund serves as a source of funding to: support and enhance academic programs, upgrade and acquire new technology, maintain and improve the campus facilities, as well as provide financial aid to families in need. The Annual Fund kicks off in the fall and concludes at the close of the school's fiscal year on June 30th.

Gifts of all sizes truly make a difference for the students at Mount Alvernia Academy. Your contribution is a tangible way of demonstrating your commitment to the school and a quality Catholic education. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and may be directed to unrestricted funds, financial aid, or technology. We invite you to participate at a level that is meaningful to you.

Mr. and Mrs. James Barron (current and past parents) have graciously offered to chair our Annual Fund for the 2009-2010 school year.  As they state in their letter to the MAA community,

"There are some things that are difficult to ask for…especially in these hard economic times.  I think we can all agree that Mount Alvernia Academy has become what it is today due to the collaborative efforts of the staff, parents, students and Sisters. We are very thankful for all the families that have contributed in the past to the success of the school.  All of the funds raised in this appeal will be used to enhance the academic programs, acquire new technology, and update the physical plant in order to continue with the school’s mission of providing the best education for our children.  The school needs our help and contributions today.  We ask that you consider making Mount Alvernia Academy one of your top priorities for giving.  Regardless of the amount, your support has a profound impact on the students at the school. We thank you in advance for your generosity as we work together to bring out the best in our children."

Please take a moment to read their letter, which is attached at the bottom of this page.
